The Gift of Self-Love
Do you say yes when you really mean no?
Do you break promises to yourself or neglect your self-care?
Is it hard to put yourself first?
If so, it’s time to give yourself the best gift ever:
Self-Love
If you had a painful or traumatic childhood, you may harbor feelings of worthlessness, shame or self-hatred. Your outer world mirrors your inner world. Before others can love and respect you, you need to love and respect yourself
You may make decisions out of guilt, a need to please, or to avoid conflict. When you do this you neglect yourself and overvalue the needs of others. This communicates to the Universe that you will accept very little. And through the laws of energy, you unintentionally draw to yourself depriving and stressful experiences that match your inner belief.
If you equate self-love with selfishness it may be hard for you to take good care of yourself. This confusion creates blocks to self-love. The good news is when you love yourself fully, you give to yourself and to others with ease and flow. You have the energy to give, and in turn, giving energizes you. Everyone benefits.
As cliche’ as this sounds, it’s truly the gift that keeps on giving.
Accept yourself right in this moment with no regret for who you were in the past and without self-reproach for not yet being who you want to be in the future. If this is difficult at first, that’s okay. Try this. Gently say to yourself, “Wouldn’t it be nice if I loved and accepted myself no matter what?” This statement offers less resistance than forcing yourself to feel something that doesn’t yet feel true. And it creates an inner blueprint for that message to become your truth.
Your life becomes fulfilled and balanced when everything you do is an act of self-love. Choices you make are for your highest good and, therefore, the highest good of all those around you. Watch your world transform as the Universe mirrors back to you the love you give to yourself.
They say a journey of 1,000 miles begins with a single post. Congratulations!
